Senator Nickel, Massachusetts State Senator Sal DiDomenico, and Massachusetts State Senator Eric Lesser place bet on NHL Playoffs for Charity
North Carolina State Senator Wiley Nickel wagers local district goods on the outcome of the Eastern Conference Final of the NHL playoffs.
RALEIGH, NC – Senator Nickel (NC) represents the Carolina Hurricanes and PNC Arena in the 16th Senate District. He scored for the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation by winning friendly wagers with Virginia State Senator Barbara Favola & DC Councilmember Jack Evans.
Following a game seven victory against the Washington Capitals, Senator Nickel will be donating a bottle of wine from Virginia and a meal from Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington, DC from those elected officials to the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.
Just like the Hurricanes, he is back for more. Senator Nickel said, “I’m glad to be able to enjoy the competitive nature of the Stanley Cup Playoffs while supporting a fantastic charity and promoting local businesses.”
After 10 years of missing the post-season, the Hurricanes have now passed the first round and “swept” through the second round against the New York Islanders.
Senator Nickel said, “Our lovable bunch of jerks are making their way to the Stanley Cup Finals. It’s time for Boston to take warning.”
Massachusetts State Senator Sal DiDomenico represents the Boston Bruins in his senate district, and Senator Eric Lesser represents First Hampden and Hampshire, but worked alongside Senator Nickel for the Obama White House. Senator Nickel will be wagering North Carolina goods/meals including chocolate from Videri Chocolate, beer from Billy Beer, and a meal for two from the Angus Barn Steakhouse.
Senator DiDomenico will be wagering a clam chowder meal from Legal Seafoods, a case of Santilli IPA from Night Shift Brewery, Boston Cream Pie, and a case of Teddie Peanut Butter. Senator Lesser will be wagering syrup from Ferrindino Farm in Hampden, MA.
Senator Nickel said, “I’m looking forward to adding Massachusetts maple syrup, Night Shift Brewery Beer, a Legal Seafoods meal, peanut butter, and Boston cream pie to the list of items that will help boost the Hurricanes Foundation charitable work along with letters from Senators DiDomenico and Lesser after we end the Bruins season.”
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals will start at 8:00 pm on Thursday May 9th.
