Asian-American Community Leader endorses Wiley Nickel for NC Senate

Morrisville Town Council Member and Asian-American Community Leader endorses Wiley Nickel for NC Senate-16.

In a statement, Councilmember Rao wrote the following, “I am proud to endorse Wiley Nickel for the new 16 the Senate District (Cary, Morrisville & NW Raleigh).

As the first Asian American elected official in North Carolina, I can say with certainty that Wiley understands that when we embrace our diversity we gain strength as a State. He understands that we need to make North Carolina a state that is welcoming to all and that celebrates our diversity.

In the Senate, Wiley will work hand in hand with me to bring more money from the NC Department of Transportation to Western Wake County. Wiley knows we need to do a much better job investing in transportation and infrastructure to improve traffic conditions for our area.

We need Wiley in the State Senate. Please vote for Wiley Nickel ?on May 8th? in the Democratic primary election.”

In response to this latest endorsement, Wiley Nickel said, “I am proud to have the support of Council Member Steve Rao. When elected to the Senate I will work with Steve to ensure the State of North Carolina is properly investing in the infrastructure and tools Western Wake County needs to build an economy that works for everyone.”
