Mom’s Demand Action recognizes Wiley Nickel for NC Senate District 16 with Candidate Distinction

Raleigh, N.C. – Mom’s Demand Action identifies Democratic candidate Wiley Nickel as a gun sense candidate of distinction in his campaign for North Carolina state Senate.  In a statement to Nickel’s campaign, a local affiliate of Mom’s Demand Action formally recognized Nickel for his advocacy of common sense gun safety reform in North Carolina, “We are happy to inform you that your campaign has been given the Mom’s Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction.  Thank you again for standing up for gun violence prevention and recognizing gun safety.”

Nickel responded to the support of his campaign in a statement on social media, “We’re proud to have been given the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate Distinction in recognition of our support for common sense gun control reforms that will make our communities safer.  In the Senate Wiley Nickel will stand up to the NRA to prevent gun violence in our community and in our schools.”

Nickel is a vocal supporter of the student-led movement for common sense gun safety reform.  Nickel’s campaign previously sponsored two local high school students to attend the March for Our Lives demonstration in Washington DC as official campaign ambassadors.
