SEANC joins Teamsters Local 391, the Raleigh Professional Fire Fighters Association, the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association and a growing coalition in support of Wiley Nickel’s NC Senate campaign.
Cary, NC – EMPAC, the political arm of the State Employees Association of North Carolina, announced the endorsement for the upcoming election in November.
SEANC is the South’s leading state employees’ association with over 55,000 members. They support hardworking state employees and valuable retirees who dedicated their careers to state service.
Wiley Nickel said, “In the Senate I will fight to give State Employees the respect they deserve. That means supporting better pay that is not tied to the whims of the General Assembly, better health care, retirement security and workplace rights. No one knows North Carolina like SEANC. I am extremely grateful for the support of the dedicated public servants of SEANC.”
Nickel won the May 8th Democratic primary election. He has been endorsed by dozens of prominent Democratic elected officials and organizations. He is a practicing attorney in Cary, NC where he lives with his wife, Caroline, and their two children. Wiley graduated from Tulane University as a Political Science major and received his law degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law. Before opening his law practice, Wiley worked for the White House traveling with President Barack Obama in the United States and abroad. He also traveled with Vice President Al Gore during the Clinton/Gore White House.
The newly created 16th Senate District covers Cary, Morrisville & NW Raleigh and is home to a growing population of state employees.
