The results of last year’s presidential election have fostered a lot of emotions for many of us – disappointment, outrage, sadness and concern for our country’s future. Those same sentiments have encouraged me to stand up and join the fight for a better future.
I wanted you to be the first to know, that I’m running for the North Carolina Senate in the newly created 16th Senate District. This is a highly competitive district with no incumbent and includes Cary, Morrisville, and parts of North Raleigh.
I’m running for the NC Senate to take the fight to the GOP; it’s time for our state to focus on strengthening our schools, creating high paying jobs, expanding access to affordable healthcare and protecting our state’s natural resources.
Governor Roy Cooper has laid out a positive agenda for our state’s future but is faced with a Republican supermajority in the General Assembly who are fighting him at every turn. Roy needs our help and I’m ready to join the fight to clean up Raleigh. Learn more about my campaign by liking my Facebook page and checking out my website at WileyNickelforNC.com.
This past election in Virginia proves that voters are fed up with Trump’s dangerous rhetoric and divisive politics. We’ve got a real chance to bring real change to North Carolina in 2018.
I have a real passion for public service. I started out my career as a prosecutor helping to pursue justice for those in need and currently manage a law firm where I work every day to see that my clients are treated fairly and compassionately by the North Carolina justice system. I also had the distinct pleasure of working for the White House, traveling with President Barack Obama in the United States and abroad.
Join our campaign to break the GOP super-majority in the Legislature.
